About Green Wood Creations

Green Wood Creations has developed from an aspiration to follow a low impact, land based lifestyle.

In the Winter of 2007 I took the opportunity to move into the woods and take on an apprenticeship with woodsman Ben Law  (www.ben-law.co.uk).   The bulk of the work was coppicing, but I also learnt other woodland crafts, some rustic furniture skills, making charcoal and round timber framing.

After working with Ben, I worked with woodsman and craftsman Mike Abbot (www.living-wood.co.uk).  Mike is one of England’s leading green wood workers and is based in Herefordshire, where I worked with Mike assisting running green woodworking courses and making ladder back and spindle back side chairs.

I will be back working with Ben in the Summer months on round timber framing projects in Sussex. (www.the-roundwood-timber-framing-co.ltd.uk)

I have also set up a workshop in Dedham, Essex and in the woods of West Sussex where I will be running green wood working workshops and chair making courses in Spring and Summer months.
